Terms and Conditions

  1. When the Terms and Conditions Apply

    These Terms and Conditions shall govern the relationship between the Client and Manzige Tours & Safari (“the Company”) and apply in the following situations:

    1. When you book a trip directly with us;
    2. When you book a trip through our partners acting as our sales representatives;
    3. When booking a trip with us directly or through one of our partners, which include various travel agencies and marketplaces, both sides automatically agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

    Please note that these Terms and Conditions stipulate the rights and responsibilities that you have while booking and taking part in our tours in Tanzania.

    Our Warranties and Representations

    We warrant and represent that:

    1. We have all the necessary licenses and permits to organize and run Kilimanjaro climbing expeditions and wildlife safaris in the United Republic of Tanzania;
    2. We possess relevant expertise and experience and have arranged travel for over 20 visitors of Tanzania so far;
    3. All our Kilimanjaro guides, wildlife safari driver-guides, and consultants have professional training in their respective fields;
    4. All information that we use in marketing and advertising is true and correct. We do not exaggerate or misrepresent anything in the description of our products;
    5. We are a tour operator, not a travel agency. No part of our adventures is handled by third parties with the exception of accommodation and domestic and international air travel services;
    6. We are environmentally friendly and have strict “leave-no-trace” protocols to cultivate sustainable tourism in Tanzania and preserve its natural heritage for future generations.

    Treatment of Your Personal Information

    We shall require certain personal information to take care of your expedition arrangements. Such information includes your full name, age, nationality, passport information, diet, and medical particulars.

    Parts of this information will be made available to the administration of Tanzania’s wildlife areas for the processing of entry permits and to the accommodation providers to make your stay comfortable.

    Communications and Correspondence

    To avoid travel scams, ensure that all communications with us are carried out through the following channels:

    • Email: all emails through info@manzigetours.com
    • Phone and WhatsApp: all phone numbers published on the Manzige Tours & Safari website
    • Other means of communication: online chat on our website

    Due to our proactive policies in safeguarding communications, we have not had any cases of our company being impersonated or misrepresented by malicious third parties. However, caution is always advised.

    If you believe someone is not a legitimate representative of Manzige Tours & Safari, please contact us at info@manzigetours.com.

    Booking and Payment Process

    The booking process begins with your email or phone call to our offices. A personal travel consultant will be designated to communicate with you and arrange all tour details. Once everything is agreed upon, an invoice will be issued to confirm your booking with a deposit.

    Your booking is confirmed once the deposit payment is received, and our travel consultant will inform you immediately. The deadline for the deposit payment will be set by our consultant depending on the tour type.

    Full payment must be made 14 days before the scheduled start of your tour unless otherwise agreed with our consultant in writing. All tours should be fully prepaid. Timely payments are crucial as funds are used to secure hotel reservations and other tour-related expenses, which are usually prepaid in Tanzania. Failure to make timely payments without prior arrangements may result in booking cancellation, and any deposit made may be forfeited in accordance with our cancellation policies.

    Please note: You must cover all transaction-related charges, including wire transfer banking commissions. A 3.5% surcharge applies to credit card payments.

    Participation of Minors

    To book a tour with Manzige Tours & Safari, participants must be 18 years or older. Bookings for minors must be made by their parents, guardians, or legal custodians, who accept these Terms and Conditions on their behalf, including risk assumption and liability limitations.

    Minors must be accompanied and supervised by an adult Client at all times. The Client is responsible for the minor’s conduct and liable for any damage resulting from their actions. Though extra attention is given to children traveling with us, we do not provide child care or chaperoning services.

    Prices

    Once your booking is confirmed, the price will not change unless the government of Tanzania raises park fees, taxes, or other tourism-related payments. In such cases, we will promptly provide a copy of the public notice. You can either cancel the tour or accept the new price and pay the difference.

    Changes to the Itinerary

    • Changes by the Client: Any changes to your itinerary made by you will be free of charge if they do not incur additional costs for us. If any costs arise, you will be required to cover them.
    • Changes by the Company: We strive to adhere to the planned itinerary, but unforeseen events may lead to changes (e.g., weather conditions). You will be informed promptly of any necessary changes.
    • Changes by Third Parties: We are not responsible for any delays or disruptions caused by third parties such as flight delays or force majeure events (natural disasters, strikes, political unrest, etc.). You or your insurance provider will bear any extra expenses resulting from these changes.

    Cancellations

    • Cancellation by the Client: Cancellation fees apply as follows:
      • 100 USD per person is non-refundable, but transferable to other dates;
      • 10% cancellation fee for cancellations more than 90 days before the tour start;
      • 30% cancellation fee for cancellations 60-89 days before the tour start;
      • 60% cancellation fee for cancellations 30-59 days before the tour start;
      • 80% cancellation fee for cancellations 8-29 days before the tour start;
      • No refund for cancellations 0-7 days before the tour start.

    Additional fees may apply if lodges or airlines impose higher penalties. Bank fees for the return of funds will also be deducted.

    • Cancellation by the Company: In the unlikely event that we cancel your tour, we will refund any payments made by you.

    Travel Documents, Visa, and Entry to Tanzania

    Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after your arrival in Tanzania and has at least two blank pages. You are responsible for securing your visa, which can be applied for online via the Tanzania Immigration Department website.

    Fitness and Medical Information

    It is your responsibility to assess your fitness for a Kilimanjaro climb or wildlife safari. If needed, consult a medical professional before booking. We may require a signed medical form, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions. Failure to provide accurate medical information may result in tour cancellation, with applicable cancellation fees.

    Travel Insurance

    Travel insurance is mandatory for participation in our tours. Your insurance should cover emergency medical expenses, evacuation, cancellation, and trekking at high altitudes. We strongly recommend that you purchase insurance that covers all relevant risks, including the potential need for evacuation from remote areas.

    Vaccinations

    Seek professional advice to determine if specific vaccinations or immunizations are required for your visit to Tanzania.

    Authority of Our Guides

    You must follow the instructions of our guides, especially during Kilimanjaro climbs. The chief guide’s decisions regarding safety, itineraries, and any other expedition-related matters are final.

    Liability for Damaged or Destroyed Property

    You will be held liable for any damage you cause to our property, such as tents, safari vehicles, and other gear. Damages should be settled before you leave Tanzania.

    Our Liability for Accommodation Providers and Air Carriers

    While we carefully choose our accommodation and air carriers, we cannot control their performance and cannot assume responsibility for any issues that arise. For accommodations, their terms and conditions apply, and we are not liable for any additional fees or inconveniences related to their services.

    Force Majeure

    We will not be liable for any delays or issues caused by force majeure events, including natural disasters, war, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control.

    The Laws of Tanzania Shall Apply

    Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
